The person behind DevelopSURE

Real industry experience. Real barriers. Real tools.

DevelopSURE wasn't built in a seminar room. It was built by someone who's been inside the Queensland property industry long enough to know what's actually useful, and what's just noise.

Hi, I'm Jessica.

I'm a private town planner based in Queensland. I've spent my career working inside the property and development industry, advising on projects at every stage and watching first-hand what separates the ones that work from the ones that don't.

As a town planner, I've been involved in projects from initial site assessment and feasibility, through DA strategy, approvals, and conditions. I've worked alongside developers, councils, engineers, and solicitors. I know how the process is supposed to work, where it usually goes wrong, and how much the outcome depends on the groundwork you do before you commit to anything.

That professional exposure gave me a strong foundation. But it also gave me something else: a clear picture of how complex and overwhelming the development process looks when you're trying to do it yourself for the first time.

Starting my own development journey

I decided I wanted to do it myself. Not just advise on other people's projects, but actually find sites, run feasibility, work through funding, and build something from the ground up.

Going through that process myself, even with years of professional experience behind me, made one thing very clear: the barriers most people face aren't about a lack of information. There's more information about property development than you could ever read. The problem is structure. A clear, practical process for the Queensland market that actually walks you through each step, helps you make sound decisions, and gives you the tools to assess whether something is worth pursuing.

What surprised me was how hard that was to find. Most resources are either too generic, too complex, or built around selling you into a program. What I needed was something grounded in how the Queensland market actually works, built around real numbers and real decisions.

What DevelopSURE is built on

The tools and frameworks on this site come directly from that journey: my professional experience in planning and development, the projects I've been involved in across Queensland, and the real barriers I've had to work through and overcome in building my own development process.

The goal is to give anyone serious about property development in Queensland the kind of structured, grounded resource that's genuinely hard to find - built on real industry knowledge, focused on profit and success, and designed to help you develop with confidence.

What this site is built on

What this site is actually built on.

01 · Experience
Built on what I've actually seen and done.

The tools and frameworks here come from years inside the Queensland development industry, direct exposure to what makes projects succeed or fail, and the process of building my own development pathway from the ground up. There's no borrowed theory. If it's here, it's earned.

02 · Rigour
The numbers don't lie to make you feel better.

I've seen developers push feasibility figures to justify a deal they've already decided they want. The calculator here uses conservative assumptions because that's what actually protects you. If a project only works on best-case numbers, it probably doesn't work.

03 · Access
Good tools shouldn't cost $10,000.

The feasibility calculator is free. The process is explained openly. Good development knowledge is hard to find because there's money in keeping it locked behind a program fee. That model doesn't interest me.

Try the tools

Run the numbers on a site you're looking at.

The feasibility calculator is free and uses the same framework I apply to every site I assess. It will give you a real sense of whether a project stacks up before you spend a dollar.
